Gujarat: Dollar For A Plate
Issues
Malnutrition and Undernutrition:
Gujarat, like many other parts of India, has been grappling with malnutrition and undernutrition issues, particularly among children and pregnant women. Limited access to quality food, inadequate dietary diversity, and lack of awareness about proper nutrition contribute to these problems.
Rural-Urban Disparities:
Food equity issues are often more pronounced in rural areas compared to urban areas. Rural communities might face challenges such as limited access to markets, infrastructure, and transportation, making it difficult to access a variety of nutritious foods.
Agricultural Practices:
Gujarat is a major agricultural state in India. However, there can be disparities in access to resources and knowledge among small and marginal farmers. Lack of access to modern farming techniques, quality seeds, fertilizers, and irrigation systems can affect agricultural productivity and subsequently impact food availability.

Our Plan
Price:
Food Equity strives to maximize its impact, thus with a contribution of only $1, a recipient will be fed a full dish of healthy, plant-based food.
Education:
Along with enjoying a delicious meal free of cost, the locals within Gujarat will be educated on topics such as the importance of a balanced diet, addressing proper nutritional needs, and efficient food management practices. Education goes a long way.
Equity.AI:
Through the power of Equity.AI, we are accurately able to predict the amount of food to produce and bring to the Gujarat location. This allows every person to get a warm, plant-based meal while also not having any food go to waste.
Volunteers:
Food distribution within rural regions of Gujarat is entirely supported by volunteers supporting Food Equity. These volunteers serve as the backbone of our organization by cooking fresh plant-based food, arranging the food distribution site, and aligning with Equity.AI for highly efficient food distribution.
